French Bulldogs are one of the world's most easily recognized & sought after breeds. Their popularity stems from their entertaining demeanor, compact size and loyalty to their owners.

The history of the French Bulldog is a fascinating one. Did you know the breed was actually developed in England?  When British lace workers immigrated to France, they took their beloved little dogs with them. The French immediately fell in love with the breed and they became a nearly instant status symbol. Their small stature and alert awareness made them excellent dogs for hunting rats, however they are  it is now rare for a French Bulldog to be known as a working dog. The French developed the breed to be strictly companion dogs. In Paris, the Madames were frequently in the company of their precious four-legged Frenchie friends. Were a potential client want to begin a conversation with a particular Parisian lady, he could simply compliment her dog and they could then determine if they wished to pursue a transaction.

Today, the French Bulldog is a companion for individuals & families around the globe. One of the greatest threats to the breed is irresponsible breeding practices which have been labeled as "exotic" or "rare color" French Bulldogs. There simply is no such thing as an exotic Frenchie. French Bulldogs are found in the following standard colors:

white, cream, fawn (ranging from light fawn to a red fawn), or any combinations of the foregoing. Markings and patterns are: brindle, piebald, black masks, black shadings, and white markings. Ticking is acceptable but not desired. Brindle ranges from sparse but clearly defined black stripes on a fawn background to such heavy concentration of black striping that the essential fawn background color barely shows through (“black brindle”). Any color or reference to Blue or Merle is not acceptable and comes with extremely harmful genetic health risks. If you come across a breeder advertising these colors, run in the opposite direction!

We do have litters of French Bulldogs available on occasion. Please contact us if you have interest in a French Bulldog puppy. We are proud members of the Bulldog Club of America and American Kennel Club local breed and all breed clubs.
